Stay warm, keeping busy.
My car wouldn’t start. That’ll keep me busy. But that means there won’t be any peace until I solve the problem. Because for now I have no car and I’m stuck at home. I’m grounded. My wings have been clipped.
I thought I would use my jumper cables and ask my neighbor if she’d help me with her car. So, I called her and she agreed to help.
I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door and there was no one there. I looked around but didn’t find anyone. I thought I was hearing things.
Five minutes later I saw my neighbor at the door, and she was pressuring me to go outside and try to jumpstart the car right away because she wanted to go someplace. I told her I would be right out.
So, I scrambled to get out there. “I told her I would call her at twelve,” I thought but got ready quickly and got out there.
It was raining. And I couldn’t get the hood open. It was frustrating but I set everything up and got in behind the wheel and turned the key in the ignition and all I heard was a clicking sound. The engine wouldn’t start. “So, it’s going to be a big problem,” I thought.
I abruptly unhooked everything and thanked her and went back inside.
Inside, I was nasty, and I yelled at the cat for no good reason. I wasn’t the sweet angel everyone knows and loves. I spoke to my best friend again. Then I looked online for “trouble starting engine” and “batteries near me” but didn’t get anywhere. Then I called my mechanic. We talked about my car, and he said to call AAA for a tow truck to bring it over. That’s where this story lifted off like a jet plane.
The jet engine warming up was the angelic voice of the AAA agent taking my information for the tow, which turned into my application for AAA membership, she was so nice. Their tow truck arrived in a few minutes.
The tow truck driver recognized me because he picked up my car a year or so ago. And I remembered him. He immediately checked my battery and started my engine. “It’s been so cold that your battery died,” he said and told me all I needed to do was buy a new one.
I drove to my mechanic and bought a new battery and I’m happy again. I spent a lot of money but at least I’ve got my wings.
