I’m not the greatest planner
and not the greatest worker
I’m not the greatest saver
and not the greatest server
but God is my provider
I’m not the greatest carer
and not the greatest speaker
I’m not the greatest helper
and not the greatest leader
but God is my provider
God gave the Israelites manna in the desert
and Noah, the ark
Throughout all history he’s been our only rescuer
we only need God
I’m not the toughest fighter
and not the deepest thinker
I’m not the bravest hero
and not the hippest singer
but God is my provider
I’m not the greatest lover
and not the most romantic
I’m not the smoothest talker
and not greatest dancer
but God is my provider
I’m not the greatest father or mother
or sister or brother
Or cosmologist or lawgiver or friend (all, the LORD)
I’m certainly not a substitute for God
Why knock my head against the wall
when God provides it all?
I’m not the most enlightening
and not the most exciting
I’m not the most enticing
and not the most inspiring
but God is my provider
I’m not the farthest walker
and not the highest climber
I’m not the wisest teacher
and not the greatest poet
but God is my provider
God is my best friend
He’ll never let me down
It seems like he’s letting me down
but give him a year or a month
or a week or a day or an hour
or even a minute
and things will be much different
Things will be turned around
We’ve let him down countless times
but he’s never let us down
The problem is that minute…
God is my provider
Right now, my life is not one to which many would aspire
but soon, when he returns, I will have the time of my life
God is my one and only provider
