Trials have been intense, lately, but this is what we go through to learn that God is everything for us, for him to have his proper place. Then we learn to go to him, only, for support. I’m learning to survive. I start each day by praying to God for direction and then do the things I need to do without complaining but just trusting that he will see me through. And he does, with just enough I need to get by. And later, I mustn’t worry about anything else when I should be thanking him.
Of course, I’m still really looking forward to the future…
Where we’re going
there will be no sadness
evil has no place
There is only gladness
no one has to race
Where we’re going
there will be no night there
it is always day
At the end of time where
much more’s taking place
This is on our minds:
this is not our home
Who is really wise?
We are on the road
Keeping on the road we’re travelers
in need of our rest
but passing each test
Pilgrims on the road
Still, this is the best
Where we’re going
we’ll be free, forever
since we have obeyed
We’re not yoked together
with all those, enslaved
Where we’re going
kings will understand the
answer’s always ‘Yes’
In a brand-new land where
there is no more death
It’s a simple test:
What is really best?
Being on the road
Keeping on the road we’re travelers
in need of our rest
but passing each test
Pilgrims on the road
Still, this is the best
Where we’re going
seeds are in our lives, now
They are in our hearts
There will be no striving
We’ll all have our parts
Where we’re going
there will be no worries
Tears are of the past
No one’s in a hurry
No more first or last
Needful to be told
Needful to behold
Keeping on the road we’re travelers
in need of our rest
but passing each test
Pilgrims on the road
Still, this is the best
Though I’m staying on the highway there are terrors on every side. I’m memorizing Bible verses.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”
Scary times? Remember who’s on your side.
