Evergreens

Once, I took my cat out for a walk and I had a glimpse of heaven.

We walked around, and Philip investigated everything in sight. He was in heaven. But we had already gone inside of a group of evergreen trees and I wasn’t in the mood to go in there, again, so, I pulled on his leash to steer him out of there and he, eventually, obliged. I felt guilty, but was relieved that he obeyed me.

Then, I realized that, since Phil is crazy about exploring outside, he didn’t mind being told not to go by the evergreen trees because he will only visit another extraordinary area that will be absolutely as incredible. I thought that’s what it will be like for us in heaven. It will be a fascinating place, and when we’re with an angel up there, or another Christian, or with Jesus, himself, and they tell us we can’t go into a certain area, we will not be offended at all.

That is a glimpse of heaven and I bet you’re amazed, just like Philip is…

Happy Independence Day! But I feel like saying, Happy Dependence Day! because we really are and should know that we are dependent on God all the way, just like Philip is dependent on me to take him where he wants to go. It would be a much better world if people would apply the truths of the Bible to be better neighbors because the Bible says that if we don’t forgive others we won’t go to heaven. And that would be a loss. Think of all of the evergreens we would not be able to see.
