When the Jews were surrounded by enemies
and king Jehoshaphat had sought our God he
caused the people to remember God’s victories
then appointed singers to sing out, in front of the army
and say
Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever
And their enemies destroyed each other
And they couldn’t carry all the plunder
This is a vision of the end

When Saint Paul was under house arrest we see
and whipped, and stoned, and it was no party
and was shipwrecked on his way to his destiny
and in prison, singing such sweet hymns behind iron bars he
had faith
Let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually
that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name
