I’m a Disciple of Jesus

On a clean slate I write his name
with a good pad, it makes him glad
On a ten string, one for my King
King of all kings, of everything

I’m a disciple of Jesus
He is discipling me

Doctors do good, as we all should
Jesus is best, he gives me tests
Working on hearts surgery starts
He lifts his knife, Jesus gives life

I’m a disciple of Jesus
He is discipling me

“A disciple is not above the teacher
nor a slave above his lord,” the Bible says
“It is enough for the disciple to become as his teacher
and the slave as his lord.”

Waking each day, I see his face
Comforting me he makes me breathe
He sits by God, his strong right arm
praying non-stop I’m pressing on

I’m a disciple of Jesus
He is discipling me

Guiding my steps I’ve passed his tests
Where there’re bad laws there, we’ll still be strong
by his good work I’m not concerned
and lands need me caring for sheep

I’m a disciple of Jesus
He is discipling me

There’ll be adventures when we’re in Heaven
Kicking out devils we could be tested
There might be sin there, Satan had been there
life with the wicked teaches us wisdom

I’m a disciple of Jesus
He is discipling me

Jesus rose again and ascended to Heaven

I’m a disciple of Jesus
He is discipling me
