The Head and the Body

It’s easy to feel sorry for ourselves
but some of us have scars

When no one’s in our arms
we’re willing to fly far
Our homes are not that large
we still don’t drive fine cars
Our bodies start to rot
strong heart but my blood clots
As veins are getting clogged
we’re shamed by those on top

It’s easy to feel sorry for ourselves
but some of us have scars

Battle scars

Respected? We are not
expected to be stars
No tears allowed to drop
and near to none but God
When most of this world’s shot
to Hell or far beyond
the only Son of God
just tells his bride to watch

It’s easy to feel sorry for ourselves
but some of us have scars

Watch and wait
for our date

On and on the body is
God is not a monolith

And those of us with battle wounds
will float among the nasty tombs
God rose above the sun and moon
his only Son among the crude

As gold among the rocks
God’s keeping us from harm
Our infinite sins gone
God’s people’s hearts are large
With those whose hearts are hard
depending’s what God wants
But soon all towns get charred
there won’t be one small part

It’s easy to feel sorry for ourselves
but some of us have scars

We’re harmed by monsters
and wander on

He made the hater stop
They hurried and forgot
They tested our good God
The image of an ox
While smoking their cigars
he’ll tie them in a knot
then put them on the block
and let his loving start

It’s easy to feel sorry for ourselves
but some of us have scars
