When you wake in the morning
and want to reach for the phone
go to God first
When the first thing is trouble
you want to call your best friend
call on God instead
Call on God first because he’s your best friend
He’s the most powerful one in the end
“You are my friends if you do whatever

We should know the procedure
we need to speak to the Throne
Jesus’s friends
We are kings and we are priests so
we seek to reach for the Most
(Jesus, our good friend)
Jesus the Most High God, that’s what that’s meant
Jesus the King on which we should depend

that someone should lay down his soul

Every step that we’re making
of every step of the way
put the Lord first
Though a great undertaking
we, humbly, know it’s our place
since we are his friends
We are God’s soldiers that know there are tests
on a hard road that requires our best
