The Song of Jehovah

O give thanks to the God of Heaven; for His mercy endures forever.

There by the rivers of Babylon we sat down; also we wept when we remembered Zion.
We hung our lyres on the willows in its midst.
For there our captors asked us the words of a song; yea, our plunderers asked joy, saying, Sing to us a song of Zion.
How shall we sing the song of Jehovah on a foreign land?
If I forget you, O Jerusalem, my right hand shall forget;
let my tongue cleave to my palate, if I do not remember you, if I do not bring up Jerusalem above the head of my joy.
O Jehovah, remember for the sons of Edom the day of Jerusalem; who said, Lay it bare! Lay it bare, even to its foundation!
O daughter of Babylon, to be devastated! Blessed is he who shall pay in full to you your recompense which you dealt to us.
Blessed is he who seizes and dashes your little ones against the stone!

I will thank You with my whole heart; I will sing praise to You before the gods;
I will worship toward Your holy temple, and give thanks to Your name for Your mercy, and for Your truth; for You have magnified Your Word above all Your name.
You answered me in the day that I cried; You emboldened me in my soul with strength.
All the kings of the earth shall thank You, O Jehovah, because they have heard the words of Your mouth.
Yes, they shall sing in the ways of Jehovah; for the glory of Jehovah is great
