My Jesus…You know I like the way that sounds
but I’ve strayed when it’s not fun
from the way I didn’t trust
And each day you picked me up
And I prayed and learned to trust
My Jesus, please throw some light on me tonight
since I want to study truth
like a scholar’s supposed to do
Digging dark and rock-hard roots
to get God’s begotten fruit
Jesus, you show me signs
My Jesus, it’s cold outside, please keep me warm
With my worrying’s a bell
And my murmuring as well
of the workers straight from Hell
and how churchmen/women fell
My Jesus, please keep me right here by your side
What our enemies don’t like:
Your elect here, by your side
As you’re blessing left and right
through the end of this long night
My Jesus, you show me signs
The Bible says, “I called Jehovah from the darkness
He answered me in the large place of Jehovah”
